A Daily Blog of Family Life in Wisconsin

One thing I learned today

I was watching my 5 year old son playing soccer today. Or not playing soccer. Sometimes it looked like the soccer coaches were herding cats. 5 year olds don’t have much in the way of attention spans… at least the boys don’t.

But at times, he played brilliantly. Even scored  goal. Sometimes he’d listen to the coach, sometimes he didn’t. Grass can be a distraction and the play on a grass field.

I had the urge to coach him myself. C’mon! Lee, focus! But he’s already got a coaches. Maybe I shouldn’t always step in. Maybe I’d be happier if I didn’t always listen.

So much of what we worry about really isn’t a big deal.
